Downsound
artiste Harry Toddler is in a no nonsense mood as he prepares to take his
career to new heights.
In a recent
interview the colorful deejay who came to national attention in the late 1990s
as a member of Bounty Killer’s Scare Dem Crew said he has a lot more to
contribute to local music biz.
“All my life
I have worked to keep dancehall music alive and vibrant that has always been my
mission. Over the years as an artiste I always try my best to bring new and
creative slangs and styles to the music and right now I have a lot more to
contribute to the music. If you notice from Scare Dem days until now I always
have an image that is different and unique, I always have the newest slangs and
I always do tunes that are relevant to what’s going on in the streets, the
people love me because my music represents the way they talk in the streets,”
Harry Toddler said.
Harry
Toddler also revealed that he is currently working on a number of what he
described as very serious projects.
“I have been
spending a lot of time in the studio at Downsound working on some serious
projects. Some of these tunes are about to be released for the summer and
believe me a lot of good things are going to happen because these new songs are
hot and different. You know Harry Toddler is always coming with something new
and exciting for the fans.”
The Don’t
Run In deejay recently shot the music video for a new single titled Surprise
Your Throat.
“We just did
the video for my new single called Surprise Your Throat we shoot it at Weddy
Weddy, it’s going to be hot. This video is not a normal video because the song
is not a normal song, because we are dealing some very serious issues in this
one, the fans are going to have fun with it. I know it is going to be a hit;
the whole place went crazy when the selector played it at Weddy Weddy. The idea
for this song came to me one day when I was reasoning with my friend call
Gallis and he said to me Toddler you already have a song called Kill Dry Throat
you should come with something new, I decided that we have to add a new flavor
in the dancehall a new slang and the two of us and Black Pearl just hold a
vibes and write this crazy tune called Surprise Your Throat.”
The video
for Surprise Your Throat is slated to be released in two weeks time.
“The video
should be out in two weeks time, I can’t wait to see how the fans are going to
react to it,” said the artiste.
