The Stylistics Are Coming To Jamaica For A Nostalgic Moment In Music



Legendary soul group The Stylistics are scheduled to headline a show called Musical Moments which is slated to take place at the LIME Golf Academy on July 31st.
The Stylisitics which originally comprised of lead vocalist Russell Thompkins JR, Herb Murrell, Airrion Love, James Smith and James Dunn, shot to prominence during the earlier part of the 1970s. Throughout the first half of that decade they scored no less than twelve consecutive R&B hits including Stop, Look & Listen (To Your Heart), People Make The World go round, You Are Everything, Betcha by Golly Wow, I’m Stone In Love With You, Break Up to Make Up, and You Make Me Feel Brand New.
The lineup for Musical Moments will also feature three of Jamaica best singers, Jack Radics, Stevie Face and Gem Myers.
Jack Radics burst onto the local music scene with a slew of hits in the early 90s which included songs such as Dream Merchant, Something Reminds Me, My Girl Josephine ft. Super Cat and Twist & Shout ft. Chaka Demus & Pliers. Radics has also enjoyed wide spread success beyond local shores and is hugely popular among music lovers in the UK and Europe.
Stevie Face who is referred to as the heir to the lovers rock throne has proven time and again that he has the ability to take any song and make it his own, as he did with two of the biggest hits of his career Tell Like It Is originally done by Aaron Neville and Boris Gardiner’s I Wanna Wake Up With You. His wonderful catalogue of hits also includes original gems such as his 2001 breakthrough hit I’m In Love and Coming Home For Love.
Gem Myers made it big in the late 1980s with a song called One Man Woman, she has also done background vocals for legendary reggae act Jimmy Cliff and former I Threes member Judy Mowatt. Over the years she has continued to put out albums and singles and has become one of the most in demand acts on the local cabaret scene.
According to a spokesperson from the Musical Moments team the event will be a magnificent musical affair.
“We know that Jamaicans are accustomed to getting good value for their hard earned money and as such we plan to deliver the highest possible quality entertainment at our event. The production will be of very high standards, we have some of the best acts around on the lineup and we have a great venue so we guarantee that Musical Moments will be a magnificent show.”
Gates open at 7 PM and show time will be 9 PM. Admission is $2500 presold and $3000 at the gate for general admission; VIP tickets are $4000 presold and $5000 at the gate.
